The course is aimed at bar workers, supervisors and a range of workers who have responsibilities for selling, serving and storing alcohol in their workplace.

The course covers the practical skills and knowledge required to responsibly sell, serve and store alcohol and how to recognise intoxication and utilise assistance techniques.

Your training will focus on: 

  • Liquor laws and selling, serving and supplying liquor responsibly
  • Intoxication, including assisting customers to drink within appropriate limits, assessing alcohol-affected customers and refusing service
  • Undertaking ID checks on persons under the legal age for consumption
  • Reducing risks and harm strategies
  • Compliance and enforcement in licensed premises
  • Face-to-face
  • 6 hours (excluding breaks)
  • Bendigo and surrounding Central Victoria regions

Assessment may consist of:

  • Written answers to questions
  • Scenario-based assessments

Students must be 18 years old or older.

All students will engage in a language, literacy, numeracy and digital literacy (LLND) activity to evaluate potential support requirements.
